  1. Ok im trying to fit some SG1 onto a vcd, Two eps a VCD, Roughly 80:20:00 Running Time(I stripped the MGM logo,Intro/Outro)

Now Ive tried everything, Constent Quality, 2Pass Varible(TMPGENC), CBR
All at different settings, the end output of any episode is always 400 mbs.
For kicks i set CBR to 20! and encoded it on (lowest quality)
Took the same damn ammount of time to encode as Normal and the output again was 400mbs.
Everything is standard vcd settings, Pal video Pal source

I cant figure out why the size is not changing(took my best encodes, slapped them on a 80min cd(had to overburn a couple mbs stated was over 800mbs, which must be padding or the vcd files because both mpegs are 400mbs on the spot) Tested it on the computer, about to test it on the TV.

Anyone know what can be causing this? Using latest Tmpgenc. Have yet to try another encoder(already fed up on the time i spent on this as it is)

  2. under settings, under the system tab, make sure you have it set to video-cd (non-standard)... thats all that i could think of... ive been encoding episodes of invader zim at 900 kbps so i can fit almost two hours per video cd... its been working for me so far...

  3. tried all of that, standard and onstandard
    different versions of tmpgenc too

On another more powerfull workstation now(my primary computer) gonna try it here

they play fine on dvd player but id like to get them without having to overburn. Odd thing is even at 1kbps bitrate is still watchable so i know something is broken. and changing to a higher bitrate(3000k) still doesnt increase the size and hte quality looks the same as my primary 400mb encodes. Somethings locking the bitrate no matter what i pick

  4. which program can i use to extract the bitrate/information from a mpeg

  5. open the mpeg with virtualdub and choose file -> file information... that should tell you the bitrate and it has always been right for me (plus or minus 2-3 kbps)
