I'm not too worried about it.
First off, if the bill is passed, it will take the government forever and a day to rectify and apply it.
Second, look at all the media that is "copyright protected" now. As soon as a ne w copyright comes out, a new "hack" comes out. It's a evergoing struggle between the two.
Third, with the technology that they are expecting to happen, people will have to "trash" all of thier media players just to see movies and listen to music. This is already causing problems with "un-rippable" cd's. People are not going to spend hundreds to thousands of dollars buying new media players, rather they will not buy the new media or "hack" it to watch with the old players.
Instead of finding new ways to stop bootleggers, maybe they should be focusing on how to use the bootleggers to thier advantage. Like posted on another thread, even after it was bootlegged, Spiderman and Star Wars went on to make millions. It's like the war on drugs, they are going to spend billions on stopping people who are going to find ways around it. The need a new approach, and fighting this war is not it.My shameless plug - XavierEnterprises.net -
I was listening the radio about Sony, they put on the market cd's with a new copy protection crap, but the guy in the radio was saying that you just need to use magic marker on the specific part of the cd and bingo!!! now you can copy them, then Sony was saying that that was danger for your computer and cd rom,,ja ja ja !!!!!
Anybody know more about this Sony stupidity????
I have a Video Stabilizer box that I buy for 30.00 like 8 years ago, this was made because when you connect 2 vcr's to copy a movie you get a copy protection picture, the picture get very dark, then very brigth, this little box do the trick and I can copy any movie,I don't have a movie library it all,but for me works perfect when I didn't got the time to watch the movie that I rented,so before I go bed I copy the movie then I can play it any other day..Rigo.F -
Well looks like I panicked over nothing, just thinking about this new audio protection and how to fix it.
Simply cover the data track with a black marker and it will be ignored.
As long as people like me and u r about there IS nothing to worry about.
I was just about to give out to pinnoy for the vcds on this no warez website and then I visited it, thats good, u should have a counter on that I would love to know how many people have been caught by that!

Pinoy pinoy!!!! you are violating the accentrix term of use,I will send a complaint to them about your stupid web site on offending each one of your visitors, even when they are just curious about it,if you are an smart, you should not take advantage of your hosting provider to justify your malicious behavior..
Rigo.F -
malicious behavior? there's nothing malicious about it. I think its very cute and appropriate. especially on this type of forum. Pinoy, are there any royalty issues with that? i was thinking of using it myself.

If you spell it right it works something like this:
R olling
O n
T he
F loor
L aughing
M y
A ss
O ff
After you've used the Internet for a few months you learn these things. -
agh, dont deface your cd-roms with marker !
just turn your auto-run off. if you really want to rip it, and nothing
else works, try fireburner. it will extract the pcm audio for you.save the trees! recycle electrons
