  1. Hi, everyone,
I'm a newbie in digital video. I have a miniDV camcorder but my PC is too old. (K6-2 350, 256M, 13G ATA66 5400rpm, win98sec) I installed a compatible 1394 card on that. When I capture the video from the camera, I got quite a lot drop frame, no matter I use Ulead Video Studio6, DVD moviefactory or MGI Vidoewave 3.5. I'm pretty sure it's because that my old computer is not power enough to handle this real time capturing task.
My question is: is there a software which is able to capture the DV via 1394 card by a nonreal time mode? If there's this kind of software, does that mean I can get a lossless capturing? For now I think this is the most important part for me to get some short movies.
I checked the manual for several video editing softwares. It seems that the Cyberlink PowerDirector is able to capture digital video in a nonreal time mode. Is there anyone who has the experience on this program and particularly on its capturing function?
Thank you so much and your reply will be greatly appreciated!
