I used the search tool and the result came up a blank, which surprised me.
Is there some mistake on my part?
Could it be correct that this tool, cnvmp3, is not known by the members of this Community?
It is not a paid subscription service, by the way. To the best of my knowledge, it relies on donations.
But let me return to the "surprised" part of this post as is written in the first sentence.

Because it would be better to download the audio in its original format using yt-dlp or ffmpeg rather than converting it back to MP3 – apart from the fact that the audio quality on YouTube is already very poor, so I don’t think anyone would bother downloading it. There are other ways to download music if that’s what you want to do.
It's the same for downloading videos – just use yt-dlp -
Thank you all for the comparisons of the various methods some of you have studied, but my first idea was to see whether it was actually correct that there were no posts that contained that search item, when the search tool came up empty.
Why was I using the search tool for cnvmp3?
I wanted to see if anyone here used the cnvmp3 tool.
Why?
The tool hadn't been working for about 24-36 hours.
References to quality is appreciated, but I use the cnvmp3 only for news clips. I think there are legal matters I wouldn't care to deal with, IF I'm downloading and storing stuff for any other purpose than for edu stuff.
My library of various news clips don't require super high quality playback. I'd say I have about all the music CDs I need for any need to listen to music; probably a couple hundred, at least. Have never counted.Who will eventually be chosen to regulate the Internet? -
Now there's one thread mentioning cnvmp3 which is this very thread, so yeah, apparently the search is working as it should.
And I had never heard of it. It converts audio to mp3 I suppose?
Why was it not working for 24-36 hours? Did it somehow fix itself?
Perhaps it's not the proper section for such a question, as it's dedicated to questions about how to download video and audio. -
That cnvmp3 project allows for downloading mp3 and mp4, if the length is something like 30 minutes or less. Maybe 40 minutes. Not sure.
I admit I wasn't sure where to place the thread.
As for whether it might be working again, I don't know. I haven't had time to check.Who will eventually be chosen to regulate the Internet?
