  2. Play the disk for a minute or so in a software DVD player (PowerDVD, WinDVD etc...)

  3. Is DVDx required a DVD disk on a DVD drive? Because I use SmartRipper to rip a DVD disk to the hard drive and use DVDx to open the ifo file and it gave me the exact error " auth.dll: Cannot authenticate drive Disk may be not locked "

    ???

  4. Have you tried to continue?
    When I used DVDx and got this error it would still allow me to continue and encode the movie.

    Also try unchecking the "use ASPI" box under "DeCSS" in the "input settings" page if you are on a NT based machine or try it even if you are not.

    Hope this helps........

  6. Sorry hailieu but now I am stuck,
    I am on win-xp-pro and those two solutions worked for me, maybe someone with more DVDx knowledge can help.
    Here are the known problems from DVDx's readme file.

    Known problems:
    ==============

    -The MMX mode doesn't work fine on Athlon processor (AMD users should use MMX + 3DNOW mode or FPU)
    -Sometimes you may get a scrambled picture after a jump. Just redo the jump to avoid else try changing the key search mode.
    -you may get "Too much samples" error when encoding NTSC DVD, I never experiment personaly this problem. So i add a flag to force 24Hz. Hope it helps.
    -Multi Pass doesn't work yet. Don't try to make MultiPass encoding with a plugin.
    -ASPI may not work with NT . Uncheck it if you get some troubles when opening a file (you may need a DVD player to unlock the drive).
    -You may get an audio/video synch problem if you ripp the totality of the dvd. It's due to audio blank located at beggining of movie (often during of beetween advertisement). You may also get "Samples not found or audio decoding error". So start ripp from the beginning of the movie or check Audio/Video synch to avoid this.

    I always get this error if I`m using DVDx on VOB files that have already been ripped to hard drive. Just click OK & carry on, it will encode fine.
