    Hi there,

Id like to buy this display for watch movies but the refresh rate is only 60Hz / 8ms :

Is it ok to watch dvds (mostly .vob files from ripped dvds, physical dvds and 2k/4k physical blurays) on that display? Would I have a full experience with this NEC even if its referesh rate is small, or should I better buy a casual Sony or Panasonic like commercial consumer display?

Regarding the infos people gave me and what I have read on the web, the refresh rate is important to avoid lags during fast/dynamic movements when watching a movie but I also read that most dvds and blurays do not reach 50Hz (often only 24Hz is requiered for a dvd). So I thought it may be an idea to ask about this on the forum.
Btw, I know this display is not really a common TV display but I like its design but since I saw its refresh rate I wonder if it's really pertinent to buy it.

Ps. maybe a useful info : the way of watching the .vob files will be through a barbone by using VLC.

  3. Another thing to keep in mind - when users where transitioning away from the very popular plasma TV displays, the new LED, LCD, and now OLED refresh rate of 60Hz was upped to 120Hz or higher, because of the choppy fast motion appearance of the 60Hz screens.
    Just something to consider.

Personaly, I have a 60Hz Bravia monitor (KDL-26EX320) from 2013 and until now I didn't notify any choppy fast motion appearance. Maybe it's also due to the monitors size since I also have a biiger Bravia of the same series which do have a bit choppy appearance. Btw, maybe a professional 60Hz monitor will be more accurate than an old 60Hz?
