When one downloads from a stream using keys What does the video hosting service see? Does it appear to be streaming on their end? Was just curious what a download would look like using an authorized key.

  2. The server won't know at all. It sees only your download. The decryption is on client side. Tricky MIGHT sometimes be, if you download too fast, or in chunks...

any resources that may explain more detail? So the service can't tell between the end user streaming/downloading? Interesting.

  4. Streaming IS downloading. Seen from server side there is no difference. You load down small chunks, in a row. Then stitch them. Then decrypt on your machine, if encrypted. That's simply all what happens. If you stream "officially" just the same things happen. The difference is only that streaming doesn't leave a physical copy on your storage, because the chunks are decrypted, shown directly, and then deleted, all separately (or in smaller groups as a buffer).

The only thing they could potentially notice is that you are streaming/downloading a lot quicker than a regular stream, especially when you're downloading several episodes. But I'm not sure if this behaviour is tracked

Yes of course, it all depends on the script/app you use.

A couple things though: What do you mean at a time? At the same time or in rapid succession? Same time should work but you're probably going to slow down a single download to speed up another, so might as well let one complete before you start a new one.
When I download videos, I usually load an entire season or even an entire show in one go and just let it do its thing.
