Not sure where to start, but my situation is that I want to create an interactive video (like a dvd/blu-ray) consisting of a main menu where various videos and photo slideshows (with music) can be played (of our son, who passed away after 40 weeks pregnancy). I would like to have a copy on blu-ray (or maybe I'm also fine with DVD) and usb stick, to play on various devices (already created a nice DVD cover).

I'm not sure if it's realistically, since I'm pretty much a noob in video editing, but I hope I can do this myself. What software would be a good choice in my case? And/Or what's a good guide to read?

I gathered some names in old topics from an other forum:
    Adobe Encore DVD
    Adobe Photoshop Album
    Adobe Première
    Apple iDVD
    DVD photo slide professional
    DVD Slide Show Maker
    Magix Foto op DVD/CD
    magix photo2DVD
    Magix VideodeLuxe
    Memoriesondisk
    MemoriesOnTV
    Nero
    Photo DVD slidehow
    Photo2DVD
    Photo2VCD
    Photostory 3
    PhotoVCD Lite
    PictureonDVD
    Pinnacle Studio
    Proshow (Gold)
    proshow gold
    proshow Producer
    TMPeg DVD creator
    TMPGEncDVDAuthor
    Ulead Picture DVD
    VirtualDub
    Windows Moviemaker
    Wings Platinum
A lot of them probably don't exist anymore (my assumption), but maybe there are some good options there too...?

    EDIT:
Still a lot of reading and researching to do, but deep diving on this forum these are some programs that seem to get suggested:
    AVStoDVD / AVS2DVD
    DVDStyler (+ DVDtoBD Express)
    TMPGenc Authoring Works 6
    Blu-Disc Studio Lite
