Hi All,
I'm sure this is a pretty stupid question, but when you render a project out, I assume you still have the original database that you can then edit some more, and render out again perhaps in a different format, true?
Thanks,
Ken

As long as you don't intentional delete your original source or have the program delete it for you it will still be there. I think, therefore i am a hamster.

Depends on the app, but usually there is the option to "Save", and that usually refers to the edit session, with it's accompanying database of assets (but not the assets themselves), along with one or perhaps more EDLs (edit decision lists) aka edited timelines.

Rendering is only a baked-in timeline playout.

So to have a full archive of Everything you worked on, you should save the session, the renders, and the original, unedited assets. Previews, thumbnails, and interim elements can be discarded, as they would be recreated automatically when necessary.
