Newbie having problems burning movies

I have VCD on CD-R's but can not burn consistantly to other CD-R's I've tried copying the VCD to the hard drive but that doesn't work for me. I have a HP burner and I'm using the HP burning software that does not specialize in video. Sometimes it works and other times I get an error during the burning process. I hear Nero is very good and simple but I wanted to try something free 1st, of course.

I have seen the problems you have described when attempting to copy VCDs or SVCDs that have been 'overburned'. Nero can copy these without breaking a sweat. If you want to try Nero you can find downloadable copies on any peer to peer sharing site. (i.e. Kaza, Morpheous, E-Donkey, BearShare, etc)
