  1. When I capture with my digital video creator 2, it captures for a while, (anywhere from 9 minutes to 2 hours) then it gives me a message that says:

Copy guard signal detected, recording stopped.

I am capturing home videos, and so I am doing nothing illegal. I just want to know how to get around this problem. I've checked the help in Movie Star, and also the forums here and at dazzles website, but I couldn't find anything. Any suggestions?

  2. I've got DVC2 also. I've never seen that message at all. Didn't even know that you could get it. I've got mine hooked up to satellite as well as vcr (not hardly used) and Laserdisc (remember those?). I am running windows xp pro when capturing. post your hardware and OS. I'll help where I can. End of Line.

  3. I use a p2 300 mghz, 256, 12 gig and 60 gig 7200.

    I have an s-vhs mitsubishi-u747 vcr.

I am frusterated because this is the second card I have tried. The first was a dv-studio apollo expert card. That one choked the video just enough that I could never get the sound back in sync.

the dvc 2 seems to capture in sync, I just need to get around this copy guard problem

  4. Not saying anything, but have you tried returning it and exchanging it for another dvc2? Could just be a mfg defect. Or it could be something being emitted from the vcr itself.
