  1. I'm cleaning up an animation in avisynth that I'm planning to upscale in Topaz Video Enhance. Do I need to convert from rec.601 to rec.709 in Avisynth before I take that processed video and attempt to upscale it in Video Enhance? Is that necessary or will Video Enhance convert the colorspace on the upscale?

    If so what's the best way to convert in Avisynth?

  2. No, Topaz Video Enhance will do no conversion it simply assumes the source is rec.709 and thus apply the wrong matrix during YUV<>RGB conversions.
    If so what's the best way to convert in Avisynth?
    Sorry, no clue whether it's the 'best way', but
    Code:
    ColorMatrix(clip, mode="Rec.601->Rec.709")
    see: https://www.avisynth.org.ru/docs/english/externalfilters/colormatrix.htm
    should do the job.
