youtube-dl.exe and Final Video Downloader problems that i have

Final Video Downloader has not been wokring for several years, i replaced youtube-dl.exe and ffmpeg.exe inside of final video , it didnt help.
is there a way to make it work?

why would i have to download the newest version of youtube-dl.exe every half year or so... or it doesnt work?

does youtube prevent us from using youtube-dl.exe? or youtube dramatically changes their downloading ptotocals, nothing works after half year or so ?

If Youtube (or any other streaming video supplier) wanted you to be able to download their vidoe's they would put a download link right on the web page. They spend a lot of time working out ways to prevent you from downloading and update their protocols every now and then. The people that write programs like youtube-dl spend lots of time working out ways to get around those new hurdles.

i see, they will have my respect.

but one strange thing is when i upload some things to youtube, there is an option like this
do you want other viewers to be able to download your videos? or not

this will be very bad, if i am not able to download college lecture videos.
