I have so far been unable to get DVD2SVCD to work properly on my machine; the first time I ran it and left for the day I came back to an obscure error message (sorry, don't recall what it was), and the last time I tried it I came back to find a just a dead monitor screen. I'm running an Athlon 700MHz with Windows XP Pro and 384MB of RAM....does anybody recognize this as something familiar/common?

Crashes as in freezes up?!? or....?
First check the obvious, delete and reinstall, make sure nothing is running in background, especially norton systems works, zone labs, or any software firewall's. Sometimes DVD2SVCD chokes because of these.
Also, are you using TMPGEnc or CCE for encoding in DVD2SVCD?
If using TMPGEnc, make sure its Version 2.53. If your using CCE, DVD2SVCD works the best with CCE 2.50SP, not the lite version either. You can use versions 2.6x but they tend to have problems. But then again, CCE costs as much as a used Hyndai. I can tell you it shouldnt be a hardware problem. Probably just a quirk either with the bundle you d/l or a conflict with someother peice of software you have running.
But...Once you have used this program, it will be difficult to go back. Works very nicely. I reccomend checking out and posting this question at www.doom9.org website, (all about this bundle). Make sure you read all the FAQ's first though, they take their forum very seriously.
Good luck mate.
Cheers. The Thumper
