video editing software for slideshows

Hello,

I am looking for a basic video editing software to create slideshows with the options of:

– effects to add smooth transition between each image such as fade in fade out
– scrolling text during the whole slideshow video with opacity option as low as 0.01 (almost invisible) and very fast scrolling
– image duration as short as 0.01 or even 1 millisecond

Basic it's very subjective.
To me, doing such a thing with Davinci it's pretty basic, it can do what you need and much more.

image duration could be only as short as frame duration is, if video is 50fps, then 1000/50=20 milliseconds

On windows 10 there is a video editor that lets me put an image for 0.01 second but it doesnt have the scrolling text and smooth transition between images stuff. I'll have a look at some of the free software that is available.

Common videoeditors do not need that feature, they are frame based, if just preparing videos as final format. What is the name of program that allows it? You are looking for something that creates presentation or preview only. If you have a 120Hz monitor wouldn't you just be able to refresh at 1000/120=8.3 milliseconds?

By slideshow I just meant video with images.. The program is part of the Photos app. I want to make a video out of images I have with scrolling text (like movie credits).

So again then, a videoframe cannot be longer than 1000/fps, so not even close to milliseconds. 100fps would give you 10 milliseconds.

Just pick up any videoeditor , you get 100% custom outcome, but it could be labour intensive. Scrolling text features included (using its filters) in some minimalist form otherwise compositing software would be more handy.

Dedicated software for slideshows, not videoeditors, can deliver slideshows automatically. Not using them, just saying. Watch for scroling text feature in them, but that could be a problem. I remember ProShow Gold, back then it was a tool. But no idea where it is now. I started to comment predominantly responding to that timing feature.
