    9900k at 5ghz all core
    which will be faster for encoding x265?
    which will draw more power while encoding?

    my typical preset

    # x265 --preset placebo --wpp --lft --sao --crf 25 --early-skip --input-res 1280x720

    9900k will be faster because of the hyperthreading. The slightly lower clock speed is negligible compared to that.

    "Faster", in this context, is a relative term, neither one is going to be anything remotely approaching "fast" encoding x265+placebo.
