Best way to download U Tube videos at highest quality?

Hi All,

I've been out of the video world for quite awhile so please, I need a recommendation on how to extract the video out of something posted on:

a) You Tube and
b) Online in general to the extent possible.

Do I need two applications to accomplish this?

All input and comment welcomed on how to accomplish this goal.

The Video Streaming Download sub-forum probably did not exist when you last looked.

Read it and you will see various tools appropriate for a). Answer to b) is not so easy since the providers will often abscure the real url. But try the tools and you can always post in that sub-forum for specific cases.

Depends also on which OS you're on, i use MacX Youtube Downloader which is a great one to use ! also for 4K videos !
There aren't many apps for this i thought because Youtube has some rules.....
