  1. I'm currently Upgrading my computer to be able to properly record and burn DVD Discs, and stuck in some research. First, I plan to get a 60GB Hard Drive, compared to my current 4 year old 10GB one. Next, I plan to upgrade my ATI All in Wonder 8MB Pro to an AIW Radeon 64MB AGP.

But I'm stuck as to what DVD Drive to get. I think I've settled on the Pioneer DVR-A04, but I'm not 100% sure that the discs I burn with the TV Shows I've taped will work on it. I've looked at the compatibility charts, and I think it'll work, but they where a tad bit confusing. Hoping someone who has both drives can let me know from experience...

My main reason for getting a DVD Drive is to back up all of my TMNT Tapes, and tapes of other shows like Price is Right, or Letterman and what not. My TMNT Ones are rapidly fading, and s ince it dosn't look like the show will be on DVD officially anytime soon, I want to be able to permanently backup all my tapes untill it is. It'll also save up on storage space.

    Thanks for any help!

  2. Your Sony NS300 player will play DVD-R discs quite happily. I haven't tried a DVD-RW disc on this particular machine but you could try emailing your local Sony website.

Chances are it will also play DVD+R but no one can really comment yet as DVD+R has just been launched but chances are it probably will. Can't comment at all on DVD+RW as some machines that do not play DVD-RW will play DVD+RW and vice versa. Again, why not try emailing your local Sony website and see if they can help.
