  1. In 2015, there were news about an 1080p@480fps chipset, the MT6795 Helio×10: http://www.hispeedcams.com/mediatek-480fps-mt6795-devices-out-in-2015/ .

    Today, there is no word about it. The iPhone 2017 devices have at least achieved half of it.

    Some interesting Quora questions that may provide cluse:
    Also the successor of Sony AXP33 is still stuck at 2160p@30fps and 1080p@60fps.

    I have a few questions now:
    • How exactly was the MT6795, a chipset rumored in January 2015 supposed to reach 1080p at 480fps without time limitation, while 2017s chipsets still struggle with half of it? (Xperia XZ has a strict time limitation)
    • What framerate was it supposed to be reaching at 480p,720p,1440p,2160p,4320p?
    • At what framerate did the HTC OneE9 (having MT6795) record? GSMArena provides no clues.

    Sorry for being slightly OT (but only slightly) - why you insist that this is chipset issue - IMHO problem is laid in sensor not chipset... high resolution = small pixels, small pixels = low amount of collected photons, low amount of photons = high noise, high noise = bad video - and framerate make only things worse - high frame rate mean even less photons aquired...

    But if the possibility of HFR video exists, would that not be good? Better 1 than 0.
    For daylight, that's also less of a problem.
