  1. Hi,
I downloaded ... Camstudio. ..... and began using it to video capture virtually anything on my screen
I got sound on the vids too the picture quality was great

However after about 2 days I went back and it said... your trial period is over.... !

I downloaded... Tiny Take... this one really did look like free software,

with the free version you are restricted to ... think its 5 mins.... but the pic quality is great

only one thing, I cant manage to get any sound into the videos ... is there any way to do this

or is there any other free vid capture out there ?

Camstudio is freeware. Camstasia is not. I guess you got your 'Cams' mixed up.

  3. I used Debut free and it seems to work very well for capturing video/audio. Just make sure you select "fast capture". Easy to select just the part of the screen you want to capture. Records in avi, but you can convert that to mp4 with other high quality free software like Vidcoder. I can't understand what is the difference between the free version and the pay version of Debut. If you find out, please let me know.

Make sure it says "Basic free version" on about screen (see screenshot).
Debut is listed in the Software section of this website.

Here is a video from CBC (geoblocked in USA) that I captured with Debut and free Hola vpn.
