  1. I have a cd-r with a dat file on it and read to go from dat to mpeg I use vcd gear. My first question is what is the diffrence between VCD GEARgui v.o.o2 and vcd gear 2.0.Also What is GUI? My second question is can I convert it right off of the cd or do i have to rip it to the hard drive first. I clicked on vcd gear on the tools page and then it went to vcd gear but there is no mention of vcd gear 2.0 there is a download for VCD GEAR Version 2.0 GUI(engine 1.5) and another one for VCD GEAR Version 3.0 GUI (engine 1.7)and there are other ones called consoles? What should I use? HELP HELP!! Thanks in advance Ed O'Neill

  2. GUI means Graphical User Interface.
The current version of VCDGear is 3.06.
The DAT file can be converted to MPEG directly from the CD.
VCDGear is the best but you can use VCDCutter and MyFlix as well.
