I just got a new computer with xp. I only get sound no video. Same with virtualdub.

You just got a new computer? Maybe you should look for a codec pack and try installing them. Or make sure you have divx installed.

I have divx 5 pro installed. Is TMPGEnc & virtualdub made for xp. I tryed the newest TMPGEnc but it did not work.

Both TMPG and the latest VirtualDub run just fine on XP

Oops, allmost forgot.... make sure you have Divx 5.01 (not 5.0) Divx 5.0 is known to give problems like yours.... 5.01 fixes (most of) them.
