  1. I have been using Potplayer for a couple weeks now, after using KMplayer for years. I switched over because the normalizer actually works in Potplayer.

But the default aspect ratio doesn't! I tried every setting but nothing works...

If the setting is set to Default Display AR, all files display 16:9. I have to manually change the setting if a file is of a different aspect ratio.

    See for example:

  2. There might be a few settings that may interact in each case regarding PotPlayer as we all know , but first try 'Deault Original DAR'

  3. Thanks for chiming in. Default Original DAR has the same result as Default Display AR.

If i open a 16:9 video and set it to Default AR/DAR, it gets stretched even more... Now I thought frame width or height must be wrong but pressing Num5 or Ctrl+Num5 doesn't correct the frame size. I'm puzzled...

  4. What version of PotPlayer are you using? Last stable or last beta? x32 or x64? What system? Have you downloaded additional internal codecs during installation? As I said - there's many settings hidden in strange places of PotPlayer menu. Sometimes you need to check all of them step by step . Or you might try to reset PotPlayer or to clean install it. After the uninstallation make sure that there's no leftovers on your C drive (like in Users - AppData - Roaming etc) . Or try portable version from here: http://www.programosy.pl/program,potplayer-portable.html. It's a Polish website, so 'Pobierz' means 'Download'. After unpacking and starting the program, change language with Shift-L. Maybe after comparing menus you'll find solution. If not, you need to wait for another helper.

  5. I tried the portable version and the problem was solved. This told me something was corrupted in my settings so I uninstalled (last stable x64) and installed the latest beta.

Everything is working fine now. I appreciate your help AllisOne!
