I am using Xvid4PSP to hardcode subtitles, but it takes so long time to re encode video and audio, is there any way to hardcode the subtitles fast without re encoding video, maintaining the quality and size?

Nope. You can't hardcode/burn-in without renconverting.

You could try change the settings for faster encoding. Click on the button next to Video encoding and change to Encoding mode: Constant quality, change Codec Preset to Ultrafast. But you wont get an exact output file size.

Or if you just need to make ONE video file but not hardcoded then use Mkvtoolnixgui, add your subtitle file and video and make a single mkv file.

  3. No, hardcoding, by definition, means reencoding the video. You can keep the subs separate without reencoding the video. You can mux the subs into the video without reencoding. But you can't hardcode without reencoding everything.

  4. There's a 100 fold difference in encoding speed between x264's ultrafast and placebo presets. So use a faster preset (or manual settings) if you want faster encoding. In general, the faster the preset the worse the quality (though not by a huge amount). If you're not too picky you might find the veryfast preset is a reasonable compromise between speed and quality.
