When adding a .srt file with a VOB to TSmuxer & complete the ts file. Powerdvd will only automatically recognize the subtitles from the original .srt file if present next to ts file. If I delete it wont play them.

MP-HC will play the subs that are in the ts file itself. But they are too big font wise & take up too much horizontal space. I tried smaller font in subrip & tried all settings I could in MP-HC, but they stay the same.

So how do I get them smaller in MP-HC? And is there something wrong with what I'm doing?

    thanks

I think tsmuxer is mainly designed for blu-ray(1080p) video so the subs wont look good in vob(720p).

But why not use external subs in mpchc also? It should use the external srt.

If you want a single file try mux/make the vob to a mkv with the srt subtitle using mkvtoolnix. Add the vob and srt in mkvmergegui and make a new mkv.

Thanks, Ill try external in MP-HC. But I think they will be too large still.

You can change font settings in the MPCHC under View->Options->Subtitles. It will only work for text subtitles like srt.

I tried that, doesn't do anything when playing this TS file. VOB as the source & the text ocr saved as a .srt from subrip, I just dragged the srt into tsmuxer under the vid & aud streams. MP-HC obviously detects the subs, just something isn't right, or I'm not understanding this?

    thanks

Maybe you are using an external subtitle decoder like vsfilter and then must you change the font settings in VSfilter.

Have you tried any more players like VLC media player, PotPlayer? Just to see how it looks like.

After I'm done with TSmuxer, the subs in the TS file are PGS. As far as I can tell Im not using an external filter in MP-HC.

I wish I understood this, as I really only want to use MP-HC.

    thanks

  8. You set the font size in tsMuxeR on the subtitle tab.
