  1. How do I extract the .srt file from an mkv file? I see it as a stream when I pull up the mkv file in MKVMergeGUI, but when I select only the srt file and click "start muxing", I get a binary file output.

    Get hold of gMKVExtractGUI from the Tools section and use it. You can extract any srt file that is within the MKV file as srt.

    MKVCleaver can do the job plus extract subs from multiple mkv files.

    Just tried MKVcleaver to extract the subtitle file. I figured out how to use it. Thanks again.
