I downloaded AVStoDVD to a new computer tonight, and set up a project and hit "start".

When it was just about done, I realized I'd forgotten to set it for ".iso" output, and would have to use ImgBurn to convert the DVD folders that were being created to an .iso file.

Thing is, as the program was finishing up, I went looking for ImgBurn on my computer, and it wasn't there. Then, once AVStoDVD was all done and the two DVD folders had been created, I figured "Well, I'll have to do this all over again, and set it for .iso".

    Not gonna happen.

The options to make an .iso image and the option to burn to DVD....ARE GRAYED OUT.

Is ImgBurn just not included with AVStoDVD any more?

If I can find it and download it separately, will AVStoDVD recognize it's there and restore the missing options?

This was an important project I'd promised to do for someone, and now I'm STUCK.

AVStoDVD doesn't delete ImgBurn from your system. Have no idea how it has gone missing.

AVStoDVD stopped putting ImgBurn in the download package some time back. Though I don't know for certain, I suspect it has something to do with the adware that comes with ImgBurn these days. You can opt out of any adware when installing ImgBurn as a separate program from AVStoDVD.

Once ImgBurn is on the system, AVStoDVD should be able to find it if installed to the normal area. You can then output as an ISO or burn to a DVD.

Also, if you still have the DVD folders you created, you can burn them straight to a disc with ImgBurn. Or create an ISO file for each without having to re-encode anything.

    I guess I wasn't clear.

This is a NEW computer and it never had ImgBurn on it.

I'm pretty sure ImgBurn used to come WITH the program AVStoDVD. It was just included when you downloaded. The two came together.

    This time, I guess not.

Since my last post I did end up downloading ImgBurn, and once it was onboard AVStoDVD was opened again...

The .iso and "burn DVD" options were no longer grayed out.

Problem solved, but VERY strange. I'm certain the two programs used to come together. Now it seems you have to download them separately, but when they're both onboard AVStoDVD does "know" ImgBurn is there, and it still works with it like hand in glove.

Yes, I missed the new part, but as I said, it has been quite a while since AVStoDVD included Imgburn as part of its installation package. It was removed in the 2.6.0 version, January of 2013.

As you've found out, AVStoDVD works just fine with it when you install ImgBurn separately.

  6. Yes, Kerry56 is right, I had to remove ImgBurn from the Installer package since 2.6.0 release, because Lighting UK (the author), asked if I could distribute his program with AVStoDVD, didn't give the permission, saying to put instead a link to ImgBurn homepage. You can find the ImgBurn link at the end of AVStoDVD installation procedure.

Then AVStoDVD recognizes the presence of ImgBurn and you can build ISO and burn DVD as usual.

    Sorry, I had no choices...

No problem. Appreciate you bringing us up to speed. I just didn't know what was wrong, but now that the situation is understood, it's not a problem.

Big deal, having to do two downloads instead of one. Heh. That's nothing. The end result is what's important.

    Thanks for your reply.
