Hello,
I would like to get the effect of collapsing transition such plates.
http://youtu.be/3kzQTz_843c?t=50s or http://youtu.be/V1PhU2jsNCk
I manually made ransitions for those 9, but ultimately the effect must be applied to the distribution of over 500 squares. Number would have to be determined using the number of vertical <> level or size in pixels.
In addition, I found something http://vegasaur.com/Transquare, but here the effect is a little different and costs tu much.
Thank you in advance

Are you asking for an actual transition (video A transitions into video B revealed "underneath") ? or do you start with random colored rectangles instead of video A ?
You can try duplicating/scaling the layers, but it probably won't be the effect you're looking for.
You need a 3d program to do this properly and to have the ability to scale it easily (e.g. 10 or 500 or 1000 "rectangles")
It is possible to render out multipasses using luma mattes , shadow passes from a 3d program - that you can use as a generic transition in another program like vegas (or any progam that has layers and compositing modes), but it becomes "baked" and inflexible - you're limited to the number of "rectangles", animation characteristics, and views being set (ie. you can't alter things such as size or number of "rectangles" as you go, you can't alter the camera angle very easily, you can't adjust type of animation, gravity, rotation speed etc...). ie. the transition will look exactly the same each time you use it
