  1. Hello everybody - I'm new to this forum, and I'm a beginner to authoring/capturing/converting video.

Some time ago I have captured some video 8 tapes using VirtualDub 1.10.4 with Huffyuv compression. I obtained files that I used to be able to open. After some months, I tried to open them again with VirtualDub and this message appears:

Couln't locate decompressor for format 'HYMT' (unknown)

What do you reckon I should do? I wonder why VDub sees HTMT instead of Huffyuv as compression codec.

Thanks a lot for your help!

I guess you have tried reinstall huffyuv? ANd you need the 64bit version if you use virtualdub 64bit.

  3. I actually didn't try because I saw Huffyuv listed in VirtualDub compression filters.
I reintalled the 64bit version... and now VirtualDub can read the video files I was talking about in my initial post.

Thanks a lot for giving me the solution!
    Problem solved.

Sorry for having bothered you with such a triviality...

  4. HYMT is the multithreaded huffyuv.
