  1. Anyone know of an app that can texture video footage just like app can texture photos

I want to record some home video and turn it into like a cut scene from a video game

If there isn't such an beast then there should be because it would be brilliant

  2. What do you mean by "texture" exactly?

Photoshop can work on video, After Effects

Video game cut scenes are usually rendered in 3d engines. Did you want to make a live action shot look more CG-like ? There are dozens of different types of CG "looks" and styles. So you have to be mroe specific

  3. I think you're looking for something like the MSU Cartoonizer filter for VirtualDub.

Yes that's the sort of thing I'm after

So it looks like it's been drawn by hand instead of filmed reality

    Thanks

Bit like the photo of Columbo looks hand drawn not photographed

  6. So you 're looking for hand drawn / cartoon look, not a video game cutscene look ? I don't know of any video game cutscenes that look like sketches. Even "cartoon" games for kids , or older legacy video games have a "low poly" look , not a sketch look

Another option for the cartoon look is kuwahara in avisynth

Or you can use edge masks with masktools2 to create a custom look

And if it's something you're used to doing in an image editor, you can batch apply the filter / effect to an image sequence then re-assemble as a video in vdub or ffmpeg
