  1. I need ONLY ones who have managed to watch VCDs/SVCDs on their DVDs with subtitles to help me, cause i need to know that what they did actually works and is not just a theory.
Now, my question is: How can i add subtitles, which i download (usually .txt or .sub and so on), into my avi movies so i can than later on convert the movie into DVD comatible mpeg (normal converstion with TMPGenc) such as VCD and SVCD.
    OR
How can i add subtitles into my already converted mpegs (VCDs/SVCDs) so i could play the movie in my DVD and have the subtitles OR have an option to choose the subtitles preffered.

Any help will be mostly appreciated. Thx in advanced.

Why do you believe that these subtitle guides are just a theory?

  3. I wasnt saying that the guides are "theories" ... u should read more carefully. I was saying that i dont want guys who never did such a thing telling me how to do what they "think" should work.
I need someone who already managed to add subtitles into a SVCD/VCD movie successfuly.
Btw, i tried the tutorials but they arent very ez and i would like it very much if anyone's got a better/faster way.
Thx for the interest... not alot of people are helping me with this. I thought the pro's would help me quickly

  4. Ok, to add the subs permanently you'll need to re-encode using avisynth sub method or something similar.

To have switchable subs may be a bit harder, you need to convert those text subs to pics with the appropriate config file and then mux them in (SVCD subs aren't text, they're pics). I think Maestro SBT may do it, or the built in subtitler in I-author. I don't actually know cause I've only used text subs in DivX films.

    Good luck

  5. 1) I downloaded avisynth 1.05 and installed it. Its not a program, its a registery entry file. Now, after its installed how do i use it? plz explain a little more cause i could really just use 1 perm' subtitle and thats it, thx.

    2) What is the appropriate config file (where is it?) and what program do i use to mux the subs with the movie. Submux? I got it, but im not sure how to work it, altho its not very complex... more nifo would be appreciated, thx again.

  6. http://www.doom9.org/mpg/d2a-mpeg2dec.htm (also read the instructions at the homepage).

You'd do the subs with http://www.doom9.org/vobsub.htm. The DirectVobSub plugin can be used with avisynth.

Again I can't tell you exactly cause it's a nasty way of doing things (can't be avoided once the rips already been done). You'll just have to read up all the docs.

I tried to explain that stuff. If you are willing to read a guide (I am not sure), try this:
