Resume function

I have a Samsung LED TV. I can plug in my hard drive directly into the TV and play MKV, MP4, AVI etc etc. The thing I love about this TV is that if I have to stop watching something in the middle, I can comeback later and the TV remembers where I stopped watching. I can RESUME from where I left without having to remember or search for it.

Now we have installed a HD projector in the basement. There is no way to plug a USB device directly into the projector. If I plug the hard drive through my computer and play the media files using VLC, it works perfectly fine but the RESUME thing is not available. Is there a solution to somehow plugging my hard drive to the projector with the RESUME ability?

It is usually necessary to download the manual or look at the technical specs at the manufacturer's website to answer these kinds of questions. What is the projector's brand and model number?

Use a player on your computer that supports resume. Like MPCHC, SMPlayer, KMPlayer, PotPlayer, etc.
