hi I've got a video that should NOT have no sound but it actually has NO SOUND. I've tried to obtain the copies from different sources but none of them has any sound. I desperately love this video and I'd like to listen to the sound of the video. I've checked the properties of the video it looks like there are some values for the Audio sub section: 128kbps, channel 2, 44kHz...

Does it mean that the video is not natuarally silent? In fact this video was not likely to be created intentionally without sound.

I am quite pretty sure there are some problems to the file, is there any way or more advanced way to recover sound of the video?

Check it with MediaInfo, tree view. It may have audio in a odd format or codec. Or it could have two blank audio tracks, but I don't know why it would. It may also have a alternate audio channel and your player tries to play the missing main channel. I spot that sometimes playing back with VLC where it lists all channels. Mostly alternate languages.

Have you tried to play that clip on other computers?

OR with different players in the current computer?

IF that video is "warez", then yes, you may have downloaded intentionally-broken files.

    1. Click on the link
    2. Download the software
    3. Install the software
    4. Right click on the video and select open with VLC media player.

VLC media player has the advantage that it doesn't install codecs on your system, which can sometimes cause problems. And it can play most any format.

MediaInfo should show every audio track.

Warez is defined in our rules: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/72386-Forum-rules-Acceptable-Use-Policy-(AUP)?

Very first thing you should do is figure out just WHAT kind of sound you have. So use MediaInfo and post the detailed text report here (as text please, not picture).

Then, you'll want to see what player (and architecture & plugin & decoder, etc) app(s) are necessary for playing the audio (should there actually BE some audio there that you, for some strange reason, cannot seem to play).

If there truly is NO audio track, well it's just back to square one for you trying to get a copy that has what you're looking for.

Looks like your download contains 50 minutes and 49 seconds of SILENCE.....

If it were just a wrongly-muxed file, IMO you probably would see no video, but would hear some audio...

Well, some players DO have problems with some versions of WMA.

Of course, with that visual, why do you even need audio?

does it mean it's likely the video intrinsically has problem and doesn't have video, but not because of external problems like codec or players ??

    This is my favourite video!!!

The file described in your MediaInfo picture is a pirated copy.

Either it was released by a troll, OR it was released by the copyright owners themselves

(in other words, "no money, no sound").

  16. There is nothing you can do if the audio is a silent track.

If you've already tried VLC, also try MPCHC, and something mplayer based like SMPlayer . You can also open it up in audacity and see if there is a waveform (maybe there is very low audio to boost ? )

or complain to the site, since you're a member

Well, if the file "thh_lexi_belle.wmv" is silent because TheRealityGang has decided so,
there is nothing you can do about it, except perhaps complain directly to them, as PDR already suggested.

I watched the trailer or preview in their site some hours ago, and I confirm, the preview does have Ťaudible soundsť.
By means of Google, the filename shown in your MediaInfo image led me to a couple of random "piracy boards" where several users complained about the lack of audio in that title of the "Teen Hitchhikers" series.

Actually I don't know for sure, but I think it is, BECAUSE you yourself had said in the first post:

I've tried to obtain the copies from different sources but none of them has any sound.

Yeah, you're not missing much without the sound.

A whole lot of moaning...then some chick wipes something off her face. End of story.
