I have free Avast and Windows 7 installed. After reinstalling Windows 7, Avast began to block an abnormal number of sites because ( it says ) security and certificates and so I can't access many sites that are surely secure. It's a strange behaviour, in the past there were no such things. What must I do to prevent this? I already installed Windows three times and the frustrating problem persists. Must I choose another anti virus? What is the best?

I don't know what's the best (does anyone?), but Microsoft Security Essentials has worked well for me. It's free and updated daily.

Not an option for a vast majority.
