    Hello and good afternoon all,

I am going to have to make some videos for a small company. Nothing fancy. But the videos will be animated and have audio that will tell short stories about their business, not over 2 minutes. I need a free software that I can have some good animation and templates and different voices for the text like several different female, male, voices, etc. Is there a good free software I can download that is fairly simple to use and not take days to figure out?

You describe yourself as a newbie in your heading. I'm sorry, but based on your inquiry, I'd say a newbie is light years ahead of where you are. Do you have any conceivable idea how animation is done? Do you not understand voices for animated works are made by live actors? And you're looking for good, free, and easy software to do it. You HAVE to be pulling our legs, right?

Wow, you are a very nice person! I think I must have pulled your legs! Im not looking to make a movie with REAL LIVE actors!! I am just looking for a software that contains animations and text to voice capability. But go on your way if you cant help you do not have to be a prick about it! People like you are what is wrong with our society!

  4. Don't take anything personally here or get worked up, it's just an internet forum

filmboss actually has some very valid points. The live actors , are called "voice actors" in animated features. But he might be picturing of something different that what you were thinking

We should clarify what you mean by "animated" or "animation". Are you referring to 2D character animation? Cartoon like? Realistic ? 3D character animation ? or something completely different ?

OR were you referring to simple text and graphics animations, like titles, lower thirds those types of things ? A better , more clear, description, or even some examples (maybe find some on youtube) will help narrow down your options

There are no free software that have good text to speech characteristics, hence the need for voice actors. They all sound robotic and fake. Even very expensive ones generally aren't that good

Frankly I hold my breath for the company that is getting this video. Because how could someone make a professional video if he has to start from ground zero?

Jesus, in my life I have never seen such rude remarks to someone just asking a question. I never even said this was a professional freaking video, NEVER! I am retired and someone came to me about testing something. Okay? Thats it. Now how hard is it to be respectful to someone. I am doing a short video. I do not need voice actors or anything FANCY. Its a non profit and no one was willing to help them. I am sorry I offended anyone for asking a question!! Ill find my answer elsewhere

Animated ~= Fancy. Multiple Good templates & voices = COST.

You don't understand the value of what you are asking, so you assume it needn't have a value and so want it for free. It has value. As does the skill to put something together decently. Therefore, you (and your client) will likely be disappointed wherever you go, as you won't find anything free or easy with even those requirements. You may not have known it but I'm guessing there was some offense taken. Hopefully, that won't happen at the next site...

  8. If you do a google search for "free cartoon animation software" you'll see several free packages. You can use Windows' built in text-to-speech function to generate voices files. There are many online sites that do text-to-speech too. Then something like Audacity to edit them together. An NLE will be helpful in putting it all together. AviUtl is free.

But this isn't something you're going to put together in an afternoon.
