    I want to rip subtitles from Channel 4 on demand service. They are run by brightcove flash plugin and I searched all through the code, but couldn't find any link.

    I have tried recording and ripping the hardsubs, but the accuracy isn't there.

    Anyway to directly get to the subrip or whatever format they are using.

    Wild guess: the subtitles are retrieved by some ActionScript included in the intermediate .SWF file...

    so the solution to the problem will not be trivial
