Hi there.
I have had an issue recently to do with the quality of my blu-ray rips.
Basically, I'm using DVDFab 9. When ripping, I am encoding it into an MP4 format, and I believe it's in a H.264 codec.
As for the quality side of things..it stays consistent mainly, but within some scenes the quality becomes choppy, pixelated, and overall..downgraded.
I am wondering how I can fix this issue, and have my Blu-ray's ripped to the best quality possible without this occurring?
Seeing as I'm new to all this..I don't really know what I'm saying. I just need a basic idea on how to keep the quality consistent.
I have supplied an image of what I have been experiencing.![]()

Use DVDFab to decrypt and rip (transfer) the movie from the original disc to the hard drive. Use something else to convert to mp4, like Handbrake, Ripbot264 or VidCoder. Those three programs are free to use.
Others here will probably chip in with best settings for animation. Not something I work with. -
Just do a straight rip, Blu-ray format to Blu-ray format, and make sure it is uncompressed when doing this. The only difference is that the new copy is on the hard drive and is no longer encrypted. I'm not a user or fan of DVDFab, but I think this would use DVDFab Blu-ray Copy. Or you can use the free section, DVDFab HD Decrypter.
You can also use MakeMKV in Backup mode to rip the entire disc to the hard drive. You can also rip it (uncompressed) as an mkv with this program. MakeMKV is free to use while in beta, and has been in beta for years now. You just need to update the beta key once a month or so.
Once its on the hard drive, you can access the movie with one of those programs I mentioned earlier. Many people around here use Ripbot. I tend to prefer VidCoder. -
Hi! The best way for you to keep the quality consistent should be using bd ripper (3d plus)-mkv.passthrough to do the blu-ray rips. However,as you told above,.it stays consistent mainly, but within some scenes the quality becomes choppy, pixelated, and overall..downgraded,it may also have something to do with dvdfab and the source files. You'd better send me your internal log files and also tell me what sources all have similar problems. You can send the internal log files and sources which related to this problem with the smallist size to service@dvdfab.cn
