Videopad not playing sound of video I captured

Videopad plays the video clips, but there's no sound.
Was I supposed to do something during capture to record the sound of the video, which I captured via Dazzle 90?

What was your original source?
How did you connect to the Dazzle?
What were your capture settings?

Lots of folks eager to help, but ESP is still a few years away.

Also, the Pinnacle software that comes with the DVC90 is superior to VideoPad, even though it is an ancient version.

The source was a Sony Handicam MiniDV camera, connected to the dazzle with the output cord from the camera, whose other end has red, yellow, and white connectors. Plugged these into the Dazzle, thence to USB port. For capture settings I just used the defaults that were set in Videopad. I specified the Dazzle as the source, but I didn't see anything where I needed to specify specifically for the SOUND source--did I miss something here?
