Which things make x264 video look awesome ?

Hi VideoHelp .............

I am trying to become Pro in x264 encoding ......

I currently know Bitrate , R-I-P-B Frames , DeBlock can improve our x264 video good (I mean while encoding using a 10000 kbps video bitrate video to 3500kbps video) . But there got to be some other things which affect video quality ....

I would like to know names of those things and simple definitions about them !

Encoding settings are only part of the equation. Filtering is just as , or probably more important than the encoding settings for encoding lower bitrate video
