  1. Using an HP DVD100i and SmartRipper. It rips 82%, then I start getting block not unlocked errors. I had the player opened, and everything was working.

Is this a bad disk? Or is this some new scheme?

  6. What prog did you rip with? I've been using SmartRipper and its ripped everything, but NOT M.D.

It did play in my DVD player ok from what I could tell. I'd like to rip this before I bring it back tomorrow.

Any ideas? I did clean the disk. There are a couple surface scratches, but another time I tried it the error (locked section) came at a different time, so it seems something else might be going on.

  8. OK, I got MD to rip with SmartRipper finally. Now, I was thinking... instead of burning the SVCD onto 5 CDs, maybe I'll burn it onto one DVD+RW. This movie is long, and won't fit on one DVD+RW, so the SVCD should fit (5 CDs worth).

That brings up an interesting problem : how do you burn an SVCD onto a DVD media? Can you? What software?

I've got Nero 5.5.8.0, but it says wrong media if I choose to burn a DVD. It wants CDs. I'd like to get all 5 mpg files (SVCD made with tmpgenc) onto a single DVD with thumbnail titles for each file (like 5 separate movies). They don't have to be splice together.

Can you do this? Please let me know how. Otherwise, I've still got the vobs, so I guess I could try to use tmpgenc to create a DVD file, although I don't think it'll fit on one unless I take the bitrate way down.

    Any ideas?
