    I am making a svcd.
    I Enable Force Film.

Why cant I get 29.970 fps?
and why isn't my video type NTSE 3%?
I am making a usa dvd
This is my first time that I am doing this.

Does anybody have a tutorial on how to rip dvd to svcds only the one that I am using is for makin svcd but they are only making vcd on the tutorial

That is how most dvds are. In most cases the movie is stored in its original framerate of 24fps and uses RTR/RFF flags to telecine the movie in real time to 29.97fps. Using forced film ignores these flags and preserves the original framerate. If you are encoding in TMPGenc then encode at 23.976 and enable the 3:2 pulldown while playback option. The film will play at 29.97fps, which the ntsc standard requires, but since you only encoded 23.976fps you have saved yourself %20 of your bitrate and as a result have increased your quality by %20 as well.

If you really want to keep the film as 29.97fps interlaced then simply uncheck forced film. You will then have to encode at 29.97fps which will greatly reduce the resulting quality.

As long as dvd2avi says your film is %95 or higher film than you should always enable forced film and encode at 23.976fps with the 3:2 pulldown when making svcds. For vcds it depends on whether or not your dvd player autotelecines ntscfilm vcds, and thats something you just have to test out for yourself.

    Hey Adam
I seen the settings for the 3:2 pulldown but I can't find it now. Where is that?
    Thanks

In TMPGenc you have to have stream type set to mpeg2. On encode mode there should be an option for 3:2 pulldown while playback. If you use the svcd ntscfilm template (not the regular ntsc template) then this option will automatically be set.

If you use cinema craft encoder to encode in ntscfilm then you have to run your video stream through pulldown.exe to add the flags.
