    i am trying to backup a couple of my vcd that i play a lot. the problem is that they will only work on my computer and not my dvd player. the original plays ok on both. i have been using clone cd. any help would be most appreciated from this newbie

    What program and method are you using to "back up"?

    You need a disk image copy not a file by file copy to ensure that the back up remains playable.

  3. what kind of dvd player do you have? does it play cdrs? if it doesn't, then they won't play, only original ones.

  4. make sure ure dvdplayer reads cdr's use cdrw instead.

    i have a sony dvp-s435
    i think i understand the problem now for some reason i am creating cdr`s from my vcd`s when i try to baclup and my dvd player doesnt support them. is there a program which will copy vcd`s to vcd`s?
