  1. Well I finaly dicided to download the ATI MMC 7.1. After reading everyones recommendations. So when I did It worked great! Except for one thing. It plays sound fine through my speakers, but doensnt capture it at all. And I dont know if this has anything to do with it, but with these new drivers there is one called "ATI TV Wonder BtCap, WDM Audio Capture"
which is installed. And to find this I went to
My Computer>Control Panel>System>Device Manager. In Device manager it shows all kinds of drivers, but I looked through this one in perticular. And when I double clicked on it, then went to the "Driver" Tab. I saw something that said "No driver files are required or have been loaded for this device. To update the driver files for this device, click Update Driver". So ive tried to update the driver a million times and it says its there. But that message is still on the screen. So could this have anything to do with it? Because that was the Audio Capture Driver. Any help would be really aperciated... Thanks

  3. Try running your sound source directly into your sound card instead of the ATI breakout blocks and see what happens. Also try installing the ATI DVD Player version 4.1 even if you do not have a DVD rom drive. I have heard that this can fix some sound problems.

Also, and this may sound overly simple but make sure you have the proper source selected in Windows Recording Controls and make sure it is not muted and that the volume slide bar is set properly. Many people simply set the "line in" volume level in Volume Controls but do not set it in Recording Controls.

  4. Thanks NEXT... But unforntionaly none of those worked. I had my line in on both Recording and Regular (In the Sound Properties on the system tray) Up to 100%. And When I go into the Setup menu on MMC 7.1> then digital vcr> then custom settings> and name it the name i want for it and all that then go click next for step 2 on the wizard... I have drop-down menus for everything except Audio Format. Could that mean something? Its completely blank. This could be the problem.

It means that something is definately not right. Those drop down menues should be there. About the only thing I can suggest is to uninstall MMC 7.1 and then reinstall it. After the install make sure you check your recording levels again. I've found that sometimes after an install the recording level is set to 0.

Good luck! You'll get it right eventually.

  6. Actually the devices you mention are installed when you install your video driver and not MMC 7.1. You may have to reinstall your video driver. Which video driver are you using?

    edit-

This can be tricky business but you may be able to simply remove the device you mention above where it appears in device manager. When you reboot plug and play may pick it up and install it properly. If not a video driver reinstall may be necessary.
