    I have a h264 dvr and am not very good at technical things, I basically just plugged camera into box thing...and plugged in..will it record anything? or do I have to programme it to my computer?

    thanks. its a network h264 dvr home security unit, it comes with 4 cameras, I put it up as a deterent the other day by just taking our of box and plugging in camera to main box and putting power plug in wall and pushing record...now I cant find the manual and I thing that I prob should have programmed something into the actual system itself..will it have recorded anything without me intitiating things?

    if new it needs to be setup correctly via menu ... connect a monitor to it and use the remote to enter sub menu's to confirm internal drive is formatted, showing correct capacity will indicate all is well ... set time and date, restart required.

    Thanks, so let me get this straight..it needs to be configured for the hard drive to do anything..it wont just record onto the hard drive just because I have plugged camera in and turned power on?

    Probably not. Try to find a copy of the manual online.
