    What is the best brand of DVD+R and not DVD-R of a 100 pack I could buy from Amazon.com? If possible, could someone please provide a link to a good brand on Amazon?

    I'm sorry but I wasn't sure where to post this thread. Please move my thread if only I'm posting in the wrong section.

    Either buy Verbatim (avoid their Life series but everything else they make is OK) or Taiyo Yuden.

    Here is a link of what you DO NOT want to buy. It shows you what the Life series looks like:
    http://www.amazon.com/Verbatim-100PK-120MIN-SPINDLE-SERIES/dp/B003U2WYMC/ref=sr_1_1?ie...series+dvd%2Br

    I hesitate to provide links on Amazon for this as I only buy my DVD media from http://www.rima.com or http://www.supermedia.store.

    If you buy any other brand other than what I told you, do not come back here crying about how bad it is.

    Curious Why +R and not -R? I'm the other way around. Force of habit I guess. With -R you get a miniscule 6MB or so more storage space. I don't burn all the way to the edge though. With good media (Verbatim AZO) -R I try not to go more than 4474MB

    I do have that answer. Couple of years ago I bought a 50 pack of Memorex DVD-R, and not one DVD would burn for me, I mean it burned but failed to playback on DVD player and PC. So I tried another brand I forget which brand and I got DVD+R, and ever since I buy DVD+R. Now it could of been the brand of DVD-R, but not DVD-R itself, but I can't say for sure and I don't want to waste the money on it just in case it happens again like a few years ago, so I always buy DVD+R but not Memorex because I know for sure that DVD+R always works for me. I hope this answer helps.

    I also buy only DVD-R, If I remember correctly the DVD-R was more compatible with stand alone players then DVD+R, Seems strange that the DVDS would burn on your PC but not play back.

    I had playback issues early on too, regardless of the brand or if +R or -R. Once I switched to using IMGBurn that magically went away. Speaking of DVD media, newegg currently has Verbatim AZO DVD-R 100 packs on sale for $19.99 w/ free shipping.

    They don't call them MemorSUX for nothing.

    Johnny Canuck can by the identical product for a mere $24.99 plus shipping of $7.99 from the same company.

    What happened to only recommending the Verbatim DataLifePlus series?

    We don't have the Value Series here in my part of Europe so there is no need to DataLifePlus packaging. Just Verbatim.

    I use those, but honestly the good non-Life series Verbatims are cheaper and easy enough to find. You have no choice but to buy DataLifePlus online. Given how incredibly cost conscious a lot of people are, it can be a bit of an overkill to recommend the DataLifePlus discs when cheaper Verbatims will meet their needs. If we start pushing DataLifePlus a lot of people will get pissy and just buy TDK or similar crap to save money. I'd say conservatively that maybe 90% of the people who ask what to buy aren't willing to spend what DataLifePlus costs.

    I saw the 100 discs of DataLifePlus on ebay in a spindleless package for $31 (free shipping) and nobody was buying them. I had the feeling someone copied the DataLifePlus package label and are actually selling the standard non-Life series as DataLifePlus.

    I just ordered DataLifePlus from Newegg and it's over twice the cost of the standard non-Life series.

    Yes, the cost of DataLifePlus is about twice their normal media. I love the discs but either you care enough to buy good media or you don't and for many people, even getting them to pay a few extra dollars (not twice the price but just a few dollars more) for standard Verbatim is like asking them to give up an arm. I don't buy media on Ebay because I don't trust the sellers. That's just my personal opinion. Companies like Rima and SuperMediaStore are in business to sell legit media so I only buy from sellers I trust.

    Newegg's media prices are rarely the best, but if you're already ordering from them anyway I admit to having used them too a few times for this.

    How much is a 100 disc spindle of DataLifePlus DVD+R, and why did you tell me in your first post NOT to buy them? I already purchased the regular Verbatim but they have not shipped yet. If I cancel now I could get a refund, but with a refund that would leave me $32.50 in my account and any purchase over $32.50 will be declined because not enough funds. If I could get it for that much including taxes and shipping than I could get it now. Or if not than I have to wait and I will buy them later.

    Strangely enough, the 50 packs if selected from the same page are $8.99 or $17.98 a hundred. Go figure.

    Reading comprehension fail on YOUR part.

    DataLifePlus does NOT equal Life series, which I did tell you NOT to buy. Note that "Life" is missing the words "Data" and "Plus". That is critical.

    And who the hell are YOU anyway? I replied to a post by rocky12.

    Regular Verbatims are fine as long as they are NOT the Life series.
    DataLifePlus = good
    Life = bad

    I'm not understanding. So keep the branded Verbatim I ordered?

    It was my bad with the username. I would like to apologize if you accept? I didn't realized I logged in under php111. I am rocky12. I logged out of rocky12 and without thinking I logged in with php111 and the reason for that I have a habit for logging in with php111 because that is my primary name on like a million forums I'm a member on so I'm used too php111. I am very sorry. I honestly didn't realized it until after I posted the reply. I'm truly sorry.

    I get it. DataLifePlus is not the same as Life Series, and DataLifePlus is good as the best? How much are they?

    I did say DataLifePlus in my post the one you quoted me.

    DataLifePlus is considered the best Verbatim media by some members here, but they would tell you that that the standard Verbatim AZO media is a close second.

    I truly don't think that is necessary as long as you avoided buying the "Life" series and bought the regular Verbatim AZO media. ...but it is up to you. Verbatim DataLife Plus series media is probably only an absolute necessity for those who have old DVD recorders or old DVD burners that require 8X media.

    Free shipping is available for Amazon Prime members, or when at least $35 worth of merchandise is ordered from Amazon or Amazon fulfills the order for the seller.

    Oh okay. I understand now. I'm not an Amazon Prime member. I'm just a regular member with an account created and I pay with my bank card. I'm not sure how Amazon Prime work. I'll search around on Google and find out, and possibly become a member.

    Thank you again and again!
