I'm not sure if this it the right forum, but, in a nutshell, I have a DVD that I burned a while back, then discovered I'd left off part of the vid. I've captured the missing part and I'm going to import both video files into my authoring program and burn a new disc. Will I lose much definition/resolution/file quality by doing so?

    It depends.

If your authoring program is set up not to re-encode compliant video and audio, then no, you shouldn't lose any video quality. This assumes the missing part is already mpeg2 that conforms to dvd-video specs.

How do you plan on putting the new section in? Are you just going to make a separate title, or do you plan on merging the new section with the old?

My original plan was just to put the VOB files into my PE 11 program, add the captured MPEG and burn them into one file. Then, burn them to disk via Nero. There'll only be one title. Not sure whether Nero is set up not to re-encode or not. I"ll have to check.
