  1. I recently converted a DivX file into XSVCD (720x480 MPEG2) using Cleaner 5 in OS X. It took about 6 days to convert (ouch!), but the results are very nice and near-DVD in quality. I used MissingMPEGTools to mux the audio and video files Cleaner produced, and then used VCDToolsX to generate the Toast-ready output. The resulting disc plays beautifully on my set-top DVD player.

What I'm wondering is this...is there a way to get the OS X DVD player app to play back the muxed MPEG2 video file I have on my hard drive? DVD Player 3.1.1 can play back VIDEO_TS folders. Is it possible to trick the DVD player into thinking that the MPEG2 video file I have is a DVD track in a VIDEO_TS folder? I've poked around with renaming files, but it hasn't worked.

    Has anyone tried this?

  2. I was wondering that also. So I did some digging around with the .ifo file.
If I ever understand what Ia'm looking at, I may be added to MissingMpegTools. But for now you must use VLC to preview b4 burning.
