  1. Hey guys,

I'm having a little trouble here deciding what program to use to convert 720 x 576 PAL videos to 720 x 480, 29 FPS NTSC videos.

So far I've used Sony Vegas, AVS Video Converter, and VideoReDo TVSuite 4. They've all helped but the file sizes come out enormous and I would like to keep the video quality about the same.

The reason why I want to do this is because I want to put them on Blu-Ray because their compilations of wrestling seasons.

I would also like to crop the video so that the side borders are neat and clean and the videos are 16:9 so that the video doesn't play full screen on my T.V.

    Can anyone help me?

The word is "they're" which is a contraction of "they are" and not "their" which is a possessive in your sentence that starts with "The reason...".

If you're getting enormous sized output then your bit rate is too high and you'll need to adjust it down. We have guides that show other ways to encode PAL to NTSC than what you have done. Look under the "HOW TO" section to the left and under that go to "All guides" and you can search for PAL to NTSC conversion guides. Do note though that converting between PAL and NTSC will result in some defects. Depending on how picky you are this will either be no problem for you or they will drive you crazy. Motion defects are quite common in these kinds of conversions.

Is your TV an old standard definition one? If not, I have no idea what you mean by your wanting to crop so that it "doesn't play full screen" on your TV.
