LG BPM55 Bluray Player

Just thought I would report that I finally broke down and went to my local Walmart and picked up one of these players because I recently authored my first BDMV as Christmas presents and desperately needed a stand alone player to test my disc's functionality. I am happy report that the player supports BD-R/RE straight out of the box (no firmware upgrade needed). The player had no problems reading my discs which were authored with DVD Architect using x264 at just under 28 Mbps. I don't know if the player supports greater than 28 Mbps because DVDA won't accept encodes >28 Mbps without triggering a transcode. Also, FWIW, I used the following discs:

Verbatim BD-R P/N 97339
Panasonic BD-R LM-BRS25LT30
Verbatim BD-RE P/N 43615

These are all HTL discs.

I have some Verbatim BD-R DL discs as well, but I only use those for data archives, not BDMV. Maybe at some point though I will author a DL BDMV. I am just a little loathe to the possibility of making a coaster out of these.

I also tested the following media of some movies I authored with menus:

DVD+RW 4.7 GB Maxell branded discs
DVD+R YUDEN000 T02

The player read them fine. However, there is an annoying audio pop when the menu loops and whenever a playlist finishes and it goes back to the menu. Tried playing with the audio settings but no success.
