  1. HI, i was using winavi to convert mkv to avi files, but the problem i run into is that it always add overscan and cause the subtitle to be under the main screen. Which started my hunt for better software that can convert mkv to avi with subtitle of all kind hard burn into it and most importantly it must have easy to use batch ability. Currently i am using AlltoAvi, but problem is that it can't handle some mkv and just crash.

Anyone have any suggestion? I know there is also freemake, but i wish there was some way to change the subtitle they burn(ass type).

In Winavi, setting in the 'vertical margin' of the subtitles

  3. That does not do anything if the subtitle is not of SRT, and there problem of overscan is still there which is a pain.

  5. what script are you talking about? You mean the actual sub? That is very tedious and i mention that it requires very good batch ability because i don't want to do the tedious stuff. (I am working with over 500 files). The problem does not lie in sub, that you must understand, if i use alltoavi to convert it, it is fine. But winavi add huge black bar BELOW and above the video which just made the sub out of place. The only problem with alltoavi as i mention is that i don't know which mkv it can or cannot work on.

Those that don't work i can use freemake, but it uses an ugly bold font and it put times in ass subtitles sometime

  6. I have found a way to do this(but it takes up quite bit of space).
    1. Convert all the files to avi using Video to Video Converter
    2. Batch extract the subtitles using mkvcleaver
    3. Use batch renaming ultility to change subtitle so is same as avi(you probally just need to remove _Subtitles01/02/03 from the end)
    3. Move all the avi and subtitles into same folder.
    4. Run winavi on each of the avi, it will automatically load subtitles and make it fabulous!
